2026 MPCE Editorial Board Meeting was successfully held in Montreal, Canada, during the IEEE PES General Meeting on July 20, 2026. Editorial board members and experts from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, Italy, Brazil, New Zealand, and other countries attended the meeting.

The meeting included a welcome speech addressed by the Editor-in-Chief, MPCE annual work report, publication schedule of special sections/columns, publicity activities and promotion plans, as well as a discussion session. Prof. David Wenzhong Gao from the University of Denver hosted the meeting.

The Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Yusheng Xue, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Honorary President of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, extended his sincere greetings and warm welcome to all attending editorial board members in his opening address. He expressed his delight at gathering with fellow scholars during the IEEE PES meeting. Prof. Xue noted that the steady progress of MPCE's various metrics over the past year and the achievements made since the journal's launch fourteen years ago would not have been possible without the dedication and long-standing support of all editorial board members, to whom he expressed his heartfelt gratitude. He also pointed out that the continuous emergence of new journals in the energy and power field, along with the profound impact of rapid AI development on paper writing and peer review, have raised higher requirements for the journal's further development. He expressed his confidence that with the collective efforts of all editorial board members, MPCE will continue to enhance its competitiveness and influence while upholding academic quality, steadily advancing toward the goal of becoming a top-tier international journal and making greater contributions to academic progress in the energy and power field.

Following Prof. Xue's speech, Prof. Bikash Pal (Imperial College London, UK), Senior Editorial Advisor to Editor-in-Chief, presented the MPCE 2025-2026 annual work report. He also announced the results of the MPCE Outstanding Editorial Service Award and the Outstanding Associate Editors of the year.

Next, the Vice-Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Antonio Gomez-Exposito (University of Seville, Spain), introduced the details of special sections and columns published by MPCE over the past two years, as well as the publication plan for special sections/columns in 2027. He called on editorial board members to provide more valuable suggestions.
Vice-Editor-in-Chief, Prof. David Wenzhong Gao (University of Denver, USA), then introduced MPCE's publicity efforts over the past year, expressed his gratitude to the editorial board members who made outstanding contributions to this work, and proposed further suggestions and plans for journal promotion.

Finally, the attending editorial board members and experts engaged in lively discussions on topics including the review process, publication direction, invited paper solicitation, engineering application value, and artificial intelligence.

The meeting gathered valuable suggestions from international experts on MPCE's editorial work. These insights will provide important support for improving the journal's content quality, industry service capabilities, review efficiency, and internationalization level, helping MPCE continuously enhance its international influence and reach new heights.
