2019 MPCE Editorial Board Meeting Held in Atlanta, USA
On August 6, 2019 (UTC/GMT-4), the Editorial Board Meeting of Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy (MPCE) was held in Atlanta, during the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) General Meeting. More than 70 editorial board members and experts from China, the United States, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, Portugal, Denmark, Canada, Italy, South Korea and other countries and regions attended the meeting.
The contents of the meeting mainly included MPCE annual work report, working plan, award ceremony and discussion, etc.
Prof. Yusheng Xue, honorary president of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute and Editor-in-Chief of MPCE, firstly made a welcome speech to express his gratitude and appreciation of editorial board members and experts for their invaluable contributions to the journal. He then introduced the Vice Editor-in-Chief of MPCE - Prof. Fangxing (Fran) Li from The University of Tennessee, USA.
Prof. Fangxing (Fran) Li presented the 2018 annual development report of MPCE. He reviewed the encouraging progress achieved, analyzed the work of editorial board members in the past year, thanked the board members for their hard work, and put forward the requirements of the next stage.
In the meeting, the awards of Most Cited Paper, Excellent Paper, Excellent Associate Editor, and Excellent Reviewer were announced. The Most Cited Paper award went to the team of A/Prof. Sijie Chen and Prof. Chen-Ching Liu from Washington State University, USA and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and the team of Prof. Yongjun Zhang from South China University of Technology, China. The team of Prof. Fushuan Wen from Zhejiang University, China and the team of Dr. Nuh Erdogan from University of Texas at Arlington, USA won the award of Excellent Paper. Prof. Yusheng Xue and Prof. Fangxing (Fran) Li jointly presented the awards to the winners.
A large range of topics was warmly discussed throughout the meeting, including the special issues, the upcoming transition of the review system and publishing platform, the function of the new review system and review process, as well as the enhancement of international influence of the journal.
The success of this meeting reveals that MPCE has entered into a sustainable development stage. Valuable suggestions have been received from experts on many related aspects, which are conducive to the smooth transition of the review system and publishing platform. Besides, it will be beneficial for enhancing the review quality and publication level as well as the international influence of the journal.
Launched in 2013, MPCE is all along determined to focus on internationalization proposed by Prof. Yusheng Xue. The editorial board consists of prestigious experts worldwide. To date, MPCE has been indexed by major databases including SCIE, Ei, Scopus, CNKI, CSCD, etc. Based on the 2018 Journal Citation Report (JCR) released in June 2019, the 2018 impact factor of MPCE is 2.848. It ranks in top 100 among 265 SCI-indexed journals in the field of electrical engineering and remains in Q2 zone. The 2018 CiteScore of MPCE is 4.64, ranking top 10% in the fields of energy engineering and science and technology of electric power.
