Abstract: |
This paper presents an adaptive control system using model predictive control for a biogas-fueled power system. The control scheme is derived from an anaerobic digestion model that includes the concentration of biodegradable volatile solid in the reactor, the concentration of volatile solid in influent, the concentration of acidogens, and the concentration of methanogens. All these concentrations are the state variables of model predictive control. The whole biogas-fueled power system has been modeled, implemented, and tested in MATLAB/Simulink environment. To validate the performance of the proposed controller, different operation conditions are studied and analyzed. The simulation results prove the effectiveness and the applicability of the proposed control system under different operating conditions. |
